- LMSB Introduces the Quality Examination Process
IRS Large and Mid-Size Business Commissioner Heather Maloy introduces the division’s new Quality Examination Process (QEP) in a 6-minute video. Click the link above to view it. The new exam process is the result of a joint effort between the Service and taxpayer organizations intended to improve communication, coordination and resolution. Commissioner Maloy describes how the QEP is different from the former Joint Audit Planning Process covering the benefits it will deliver to taxpayers and the Service.

- State MeF Schema Development
This site has been created as a resource for states and vendors in supporting the schema sets that have been designed in collaboration. The state schema sets available for download from this website, including the Fed/State Modernized eFile (MeF) State Schema Sets are now under controlled releases. States, software developers, or service providers may NOT independently make any changes to these schemas. The Schema Sets are under the control of the Tax Implementation Group for E-commerce Requirements Standardization (TIGERS), which is a work group of the ANSI accredited standards committee X12 and co-sponsored by the Federation of Tax Administrators. TIGERS has been charged by the FTA/IRS Tactical Advisory Group (TAG) with the development and maintenance of the XML schema standards.
